Beta Performance v2.1

Hero Renderer

A professional-grade, backend-independent rendering engine for Minecraft.

Beta · Active development — v2.1 with real Fabric and NeoForge builds. Milestones M0–M9 complete: HGFX (OpenGL 4.6 + Vulkan), frame graph, chunk renderer, adaptive performance, distance/LOD, and 26.x support.

Why it exists

Purpose

Minecraft's renderer is powerful but constrained. Hero Renderer is the Hero Studios rendering foundation — a modular, multithreaded engine behind its own graphics API (HGFX) that incrementally replaces the vanilla pipeline. Advanced graphics, rendering extensibility, and maximum performance, with a version abstraction layer that proves API independence.

Who it's for

Players who want better visuals, and developers building rendering-heavy features on the Hero Studios ecosystem.

Key capabilities

HGFX graphics API

Backend-independent API with Null, OpenGL 4.6 and Vulkan backends.

Frame graph renderer

Pass scheduling, transient resources and aliasing.

Advanced visuals

Chunk rendering, entity rendering, water shader, sky, clouds, shadows, fog, bloom, color grading.

Adaptive performance

Bottleneck detection, dynamic quality, render-distance manager, LODs and impostors.

Features
